The Mission of the Port of Hood River is to initiate, promote and maintain quality of life and a healthy economy throughout the Port District and the Columbia River Gorge.

Hood River Toll Bridge
Hood River Interstate Bridge: Hood River Interstate Bridge is a vital economic link that connects Oregon and Washington in the central Columbia River Gorge. The bridge is critical for the flow of goods and services, and is an important commuter route for the Gorge work force. Since 1994 the Port of Hood River has invested nearly $5 million to upgrade the bridge, which was built in 1924 and purchased by the Port in 1950.

Hood River Marina
Hood River Marina provides recreational opportunities for boaters, windsurfers, swimmers and other activities. The marina has moorage space for 135 vessels, plus 11 boathouses and nine floatplane slips. Marina Park includes a public swim beach, grassy park areas, windsurf schools, picnic areas and rest rooms with public showers. Major musical events, including Jazz on the Water Festival and Hood River Apple Jam, have been staged at the Marina. A transient dock is available for visitors. A pedestrian bridge connects Marina Park with downtown Hood River. The Marina is located at River Mile 169.

Ken Jernstedt Airfield
Ken Jernstedt Airfield (formerly Hood River Airport) is a general aviation airport with a 3,040-foot runway. It's located just south of the county seat of Hood River. There are 78 based aircraft. The Port maintains 36 T-hangars for public use. Pilots will find 100LL aviation available from Fixed Base Operator Flightline Services, Inc. Ken Jernstedt Airfield also has facilities for glider pilots. An agriculture spraying operation is located at the airport.

Light Industrial Facilities
The Port of Hood River purchased the former Diamond Fruit Cannery Complex in downtown Hood River in 1984. Since then, the Port has transformed the 20-acre, downtown Hood River site into light industrial buildings. As of the year 2000, the Port retains ownership of only the Columbia Building and the Big 7 Building. Diamond Fruit Growers land and buildings including Engel DeHart, Graf, Hood River Supply, and Union were renovated and sold to the private sector, and are now on Hood River County's current tax assessments.

Port of Hood River industrial parks are in high demand and available space is limited:
John Weber Business Park
A 19-acre development, with 3.02 acres remaining for new tenants. All utilities are in place.
Hood River Waterfront
This Columbia River shoreline site offers nearly 15 acres of property suitable for a variety of mixed uses. It is located adjacent to Interstate 84 and downtown Hood River. Urban utilities are on-site.
Wasco Business Park
Just over 5,000 square feet of Light Industrial space available at Wasco Business Building.
Area Served:
The Port of Hood River serves all of Hood River County, excluding Cascade Locks.
Miscellaneous Information:
The Port of Hood River is located 60 miles east of Portland along the banks of the Columbia River and adjacent to Interstate 84 and Hwy 35. The Port serves the eastern end of Hood River County.
