Mission Statement / Scope of Responsibilities

The mission of the Klickitat County Economic Development Department is to enhance the economy of Klickitat County and the lives of its citizens thereby creating increased opportunities for employment and an expanded property tax base through sustained leadership, planning and strategic investment.

Services / Programs Offered:

The organization supports the attraction, retention and expansion of business and jobs in Klickitat County as well as the development of infrastructures and public services to accomplish this goal. Provide support for business access to local, state, and federal funding and assistance programs. Facilitates the acquisition of permits.

Area Served:

Klickitat County, located in the south-central part of Washington state, covers an area of approximately 30 by 90 miles. The scenic wonders of the region include the Columbia River, which borders the south edge of the county, and Mt. Adams, which looms in the horizon to the north. Municipalities served include Bingen, Goldendale, and White Salmon.

Miscellaneous Information:

Klickitat County population is approximately 19,161. The diverse economy agriculture, timber, aluminum, and regional landfill. In addition, the county is home to some of the best windsurfing sites and wine growing areas in North America.
